Our armed forces protect the nation.
Now it’s time to protect our engineering personnel.
You can do this with military vehicle fume extraction systems from Fumex.
Repairing and maintaining a large engine in the field comes with many life-threatening dangers. However, exhaust fumes are low down the threat list.
Carrying out repairs and maintenance away from the battlefield changes this dynamic.
The hazards associated with inhalation of exhaust fumes within a building become a real and present danger and must be controlled.
Military engines produce fumes just like any domestic machine.
However, their design, size and age can make capturing the fumes they generate more complicated.
Consider the 26.6 litre Perkins CV12-6A diesel engine found in the Challenger 2 MBT.
With its large emission volumes, emitted from both twin and ancillary exhaust ports, it could be difficult to capture all of the fumes before they are released into the work environment.
At Fumex, we utilise our extensive knowledge, gained from over 40 years’ experience to design extraction systems that are able to capture engine exhaust fumes from even the most complicated military machinery.
Our military fume extraction systems can be designed 100% bespoke for your requirements, meaning no engine is too complex, and your workforce are always protected.
Our in-house design team will specify a fume extraction system that is not only functional, but easy to use too.
All our systems are fitted with high performance centrifugal fans, and vent to the outside via a Jet-Cowl, which directs extracted fumes away from the building.
We have two principal types of extraction to choose from - which can then be modified according to your requirements.
Fitting our military fume extraction systems to your vehicles is a breeze thanks to our custom-made exhaust extraction hoods.
Fabricated from galvanised steel, they are made to fit any and all exhaust types including one-off and specialist vehicles.
Battle tanks, personnel carriers, and goods vehicles produce large volumes of poisonous exhaust fume.
It takes more than a simple extraction hose to capture these at source.
Our articulated boom arm systems are designed specifically to support the larger diameter, high temperature hose and ducting required to extract military exhaust fumes.
Manufactured using the highest quality steel profiles, they remain highly manoeuvrable and controllable thanks to smooth ball-bearing pivots as well as disc braking.
An alternative to our articulated boom arm systems, are our retractable hose reels.
Mounted from the ceiling above the work area, these spring loaded systems coil away for efficient storage when not in use.
Simply grasp the nozzle overhead to extend the hose and connect to the vehicle exhaust.
When finished, the hose can be retracted automatically by giving a short pull on the nozzle.
Military vehicles can be complex machines.
Thanks to our knowledgeable in-house design team, you won’t need a military strategist to control the risk of exhaust fume inhalation in your workplace.
