Located in the Georgian Quarter of Liverpool, the Chris Mercier Dental Practice is a thriving, modern and innovative dental surgery. During the Covid 19 lockdown, Dr Mercier decided to invest in an aerosol extraction system for his two dental surgeries, minimising any risk to his staff and patient.

Fumex Ltd were approached by a leading dental equipment supplier to design and install the aerosol extraction system before the practice could reopen. This system consisted of two 2.1 metre extraction arms, high quality galvanised steel ducting and two centrifugal fans with silencers, both externally mounted. The extraction arm is ceiling mounted in the larger surgery and wall mounted in the second surgery, to provide both flexibility and ease of use. The extraction system is vented to atmosphere via a high velocity jet cowl.

One additional benefit of aerosol extraction is the system will provide extra air room changes, this helps to further minimise any exposure risk.
