LEV COSHH Testing and Service

When did you last have your LEV COSHH Test or Service?

As an employer, you must comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations. Many companies, however, fail to maintain this legal compliance. They may feel that the rules don’t apply, or that maintenance and testing is too costly.

We at Fumex Ltd specialise in all types of LEV COSHH testing, servicing, and certification – at a price to suit even the tightest budget. Let us ensure your LEV equipment is compliant with the law.

What’s included in an LEV COSHH Test and Service?

Most LEV systems vary in subtle ways, so effective testing can be challenging. Our unique, market-leading, software system ensures accurate and dependable testing and can be used in engineering workshops, all the way through to medical equipment manufacturers.

Here’s what you can expect from our LEV COSHH testing and servicing.

1. Review

We review the LEV system and the hazardous and harmful substances which it is required to extract. This influences the other checks we may carry out.

2. Condition check

We assess your LEV system to ensure sound mechanical condition. We check for damage and signs of wear that will reduce LEV efficiency. This includes mechanical parts, flues, and ducts, as well as filter systems.

3. Airflow Measurement

We use anemometers and other equipment to quantitatively measure and record the air flow velocities at key points throughout your LEV system.

4. Capture Velocity Test

Using smoke generators and visual assessment we verify that the LEV system is effectively removing airborne contaminants at source, ie, at the hood or nozzle.

5. Containment Testing

We ensure that the smoke and fumes removed by your LEV system are properly contained and are unable to escape to the environment.

6. Noise Levels

We measure the noise levels produced by your LEV to ensure that it is within the recognised workplace exposure limits.

7. Adjustment and Repair

Based on the findings of the testing we may carry out adjustments, repairs, or part replacements in order to ensure it is running optimally.

8. Retesting and sign off

After any remedial work is carried out, we will re-test your LEV system to determine improvements have been made. After this we will record our findings and provide you with a report for you to retain. The report fully satisfies requirements of the COSHH regulations and can be reproduced should it require review.

Why is LEV COSHH testing and servicing important?

Regulation 9 of the COSHH Regulations state that every employer who provides any LEV shall ensure that: “It is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order, in good repair and in a clean condition.”

The regulations also state that LEV systems must be tested by a qualified person. You may not have a suitably qualified, experienced, knowledgeable, employee on site who is able to carry out LEV COSHH testing. That’s why our clients rely on Fumex to carry out this testing and servicing on their behalf to maintain legal compliance.

Why Choose Fumex for COSHH LEV Testing and Servicing?

Most LEV systems will need servicing at least every 14 months. Our BOHS P601 (LEV Compliance Testing) qualified assessors are readily available to ensure your LEV system is legally compliant at all times. And aided by our unique testing software, our services are the most competitively priced in the UK. Ensure an optimally functioning LEV system, and legal compliance.
