Magnetic Grabber System

The Magnetic Grabber System is specifically designed to capture exhaust fumes from emergency vehicles as they are driven out of the station. Particularly on start-up, large diesel engines produce a cocktail of toxic gases/particulates and these carry a significant health risk.

The system comprises of an overhead aluminium extraction rail with a sliding trolley that moves forward with the appliance.

Attached to the trolley is the high temperature hose and magnetic grabber nozzle. These are supported by a spring balance block. The exhaust gases are vented to atmosphere, via a centrifugal fan and high velocity stack outlet. The fan may be installed internally or externally. As the appliance exits the station, the magnetic grabber nozzle automatically releases and is then ready for reconnection when the appliance returns.

The key component of this system is the ‘click & seal’ magnetic nozzle. It is simple and easy to connect. With an audible ‘click’ the nozzle seals with the stainless-steel exhaust adaptor that is clamped to the appliance exhaust pipe. The exhaust adaptor has a series of air intake slots to allow ambient air to enter the system and cool the hot gases. The stainless-steel magnetic nozzle has a protective rubber safety cover to protect the vehicle.
